[Twitter going brrrr with free pizza!](https://twitter.com/search?q=rarepizzas&src=typed_query&f=live)

Today is a sacred day in the cryptocurrency space. On May 22, 2010 Laszlo Hanyecz made the first ever Bitcoin transaction, trading 10,000 bitcoin for two large pizzas. Today, crypto enthusiasts celebrate this milestone occasion by sharing some slices of pizza.

How to get some FREE PIZZA TODAY:

* Check our [Rarepizzas map](https://www.rarepizzas.com/map) to see if you have a pizzeria nearby that was onboarded, in the Pizzeria Tracker tab. We gave to each of these pizzerias $500 worth of pizza to give away to their communities, with an additional $150 tip for their work.
* If you live in the USA you can use [Slice]) to get a fresh pie delivered by entering the code FREEPIZZADAY. We bought 1 bitcoin worth of pizza redeemable through Sliceโ€™s network of 16,000 pizza shops.
* We also partnered with [Bitcoin Pizza](https://www.eatbitcoinpizza.com/) so you can get a fresh pie for free while supporting the Human Rights Foundation’s Bitcoin Development Fund. We are giving away 1000 bitcoin pizzas! Stay tuned for the announcement!
* Order your pizza, snap a picture and post it on #Twitter [and send us a receipt](http://pizzaproof.com/).

More about [Rarepizzas](https://www.rarepizzas.com/):

* On March 14, 2021 (Pi Day) we sold digital collectible Rare Pizzas Box NFTs that will open to reveal a unique, generated pie on June 28. So far, weโ€™ve raised over $1M USD which will go to buying the world pizza, with a portion going to the artists and contributors who helped coordinate this momentous project. Collectors can get a box by visiting [Rarepizzas Store](https://www.rarepizzas.com/store) or [OpenSea](https://opensea.io/collection/rare-pizzas-box), there will only be 10,000 of these made and they are sold on a bonding curve.
* All this free pizza is possible thanks to PizzaDAO and the efforts of a community with 100+ members and the collaboration of 300+ artists that participated in the Rare Pizzas generative art project.
* We also donated over $30,000 USD to charities across the world to throw local pizza parties. This includes feeding hundreds of kids and elderly households across the world.
* Why are you doing this? We believe that pizza should be free, or at least once a year. We want to celebrate a world wide party every year in which pizza is free, for Laszlo! And we want to do it with mainstream adoption!

Welcome to the party!!!

  1. Wholesome communities are the best communities.

Good on you and your team for your philanthropy!

  2. Imagine if he had 10,000 Bitcoin right now instead of trading it in for 2 large pizzas…..

  3. I just ordered one! From a broke college student who lost his ass recently in crypto (still hodling tho) I appreciate it!

  4. Thanks y’all, this is such a fun idea! I feel like it is very in keeping with the spirit of early crypto. I got mine and will share on twitter when it comes. Is there a discord or something to help plan next year’s? Or do you just join the pizza DAO by buying tokens or something? Or do you just support by buying the NFTs?

  5. This is badass. It works. I have one participating pizza place within 3 miles of my small town and checked my friend’s place that I’m visiting 45 mins away. Another in his town. Great job, tested the code and its $20 off

  6. I didnโ€™t even have to look to know there wasnโ€™t going to be a place in West Virginia. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  7. Y’all are amazing – getting my fav pizza spot Seniores to sign up? Legendary. And wholesome!

  8. Just checked out the map. Half of them don’t even have working websites and addresses are at apartment numbers. Out of the five “participating” pizzerias within an hour of me, only two are legitimate and work on slice.

Looks like some DD wasn’t done. People took advantage and basically stole money from legitimate small businesses.

  9. I used the rare pizzas map to find king umberto in Elmont and I called them to find out they were not participating. Did they steal that $500 from you?

  10. I was able to get 4 slices for me and my fam for 8 dollars delivered. 4 dollar tip included in that as well.
Cheers to the BTC community. Iโ€™m holding heavy!

  11. This is cool. But I’m going to opt out and make my own pizza. I hope that means one other crypto nerd can get a free one. ๐Ÿ•
