The International Olympic Committee has partnered with San Francisco-based gaming company nWay to launch NFT badges.
The recently released badge set is part of the Olympic Heritage Collection spanning 125 years. For example, the badge below is dedicated to the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, where an official mascot was used for the first time.
NFT badges are available for purchase through the nWayPlay platform from June 17.
nWay will also release an Olympic-themed video game in 2021.
The Olympic Games, which were normally planned to be held last year, were postponed for a year due to the pandemic. The games are expected to begin on July 23.
