Social media platform TikTok has partnered with Audius, an Ethereum and Solana-based music streaming platform, instead of Spotify or Apple Music.
China-based video sharing platform TikTok, which has recently been criticized for privacy issues, continues its new investments.
TikTok, which has the title of the most downloaded application recently, has signed with Audius, a blockchain-based music platform.
TikTok was expected to favor Apple Music or Spotify, but the Chinese app has turned to blockchain technologies.
According to the statements, a new feature called “TikTok Sounds” is coming to the popular video sharing application. Audius co-founder Forrest Browning said in a statement that users can import and publish their songs to the app with “one click”.
Founded in 2018, Ethereum and Solana-based Auidus had reached 5 million users earlier this month. This has made it one of the most common applications powered by blockchain technology.
After the partnership announcement, there was a 130 percent increase in Audius’ cryptocurrency AUDIO.
