Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Invests Half a Billion Dollars in Bitcoin (BTC)-Powered Digital Bank



Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway has invested half a billion dollars in Brazilian digital bank Nubank, CNBC reported.

The highlight of this investment is Nubank’s acquisition of Easynvest brokerage firm and the two financial firms’ plans to allow their clients to invest in the Bitcoin ETF.

Nubank and Easynvest have been in negotiations since autumn 2020 and the acquisition is expected to be completed later this year.

Warren Buffett is among the leading Bitcoin opponents, as is known by the cryptocurrency community. In a previous interview, Buffett referred to Bitcoin as “rat poison”.

Justin Sun, one of the important names in the crypto community and CEO of the Tron (TRX) Foundation, had a dinner with Buffett last year. After this meal, Sun shared on his Twitter account that he had gifted Buffett a smartphone with a small amount of Bitcoin and Tron in his wallet.
